Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups shredded wheat cereal
  • ½ cup peanut butter
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
  • ½ cup coconut shavings
  • Green food dye
  • Mini Cadbury Eggs (or your favorite candy eggs)

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter and semi-sweet chocolate. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  • Add the shredded wheat cereal to the melted chocolate mixture. Gently fold until every piece is thoroughly coated in chocolatey goodness.
  • Line your cupcake pan with cupcake liners. Spoon a heaping tablespoon of the chocolate-wheat mixture into each liner. Using the back of the spoon, press down the mixture to create a well in the center, forming a nest shape. (Don’t stress about perfection—nature’s nests are rustic, and yours can be too!)
  • Place the cupcake pan in the freezer for about 15 minutes, allowing the nests to firm up.
  • While the nests harden, add a few drops of green food dye to a resealable plastic bag. Toss in the shredded coconut, seal the bag, and shake until the coconut turns a vibrant green. This will be the "grass" for your nests.
  • Once the chocolate nests are firm, remove them from the cupcake liners. Sprinkle a little of the green coconut “grass” into each nest.
  • Finish by placing three mini Cadbury eggs (or your candy of choice) on top.
