Ingredients

  • 5 cups rice Krispies cereal
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows (about 10 ounces)
  • ½ cup red meltable candies
  • ½ cup white meltable candies
  • ½ cup blue meltable candies
  • Sprinkles: as desired, can be any type of your choosing

Instructions

  • Start by melting your butter in a big pot over low heat. Once it’s liquid gold, toss in the marshmallows and stir until it's smooth and gooey.
  • Next, stir in the Rice Krispies cereal until every last puff is coated.
  • Press the sticky mixture into a parchment-lined 9x13 pan. Tip: Grease your hands or a spatula with a little butter to prevent sticking. Pop the pan into the fridge for at least an hour to set.
  • Once firm, lift the treat slab out using the parchment paper. Place it on a cutting board and slice into squares or rectangles. The size is totally up to you—tiny bites for grazing or bigger chunks for a showstopper.
  • Melt your red, white, and blue candy melts in separate bowls. Follow the package instructions for a smooth, dippable consistency. Deep bowls make this process easier (and less messy).
  • Using a piping bag, drizzle red, white, and blue candy melts over each square until fully covered, then sprinkle immediately.
  • Once all treats are done, let them set completely. You can speed this up by chilling them in the fridge.
